Christmas Ornaments

December 12, 2010

We started a new tradition with fifth graders this year.  They were given the task of using cookie cutters to cut out clay ornaments for the entire school.  As a reward, they were given the privilege of being the only grade to use ceramic paint and glaze so their ornaments would be shiny.  They also chose and  painted two ornaments while the other grades chose just one each.  I had to post a picture of some of these beautiful ornaments.  It was very rewarding to see the smiles of the students as they took home completed ornaments.  Some were given as gifts while others were hung on their family Christmas tree as soon as they arrived home.
