Valentine Hearts

January 15, 2011

Especially with younger students, I’m often asked how long a project takes to complete.   Many days!  I’ve found that these young friends can turn out some fantastic work, but we need to take the project in small bites.  I wanted to share a cute valentine idea from Carver kindergarteners.  After tracing a heart template onto white construction paper, they used  a black crayon to add a line design to their hearts. They painted their hearts with watercolor paint.  The next day, they cut out their hearts and glued them down to red or pink construction paper. They glued tissue paper around their hearts and glued construction paper squares around the border of their papers.
