Robert Delaunay Abstract Painting

January 19, 2011

Fourth grade students loved learning about Robert Delaunay, a French abstract artist.  He used bold bright colors and geometric shapes to create stunning art.  After looking at examples of Delaunay’s work, students used a ruler to create several straight lines across their paper.  Then they traced lids of varied sizes, making sure some overlapped and even went off their paper.  They finished up their designs by adding color and lots of it…..thanks to teachkidsart.blogspot.com for this new idea.
