Kindergarten students squealed with excitement as they learned how to mix colors.  We recently studied artist Piet Mondrian, who used the primary colors of red, blue and yellow.  I demonstrated how to take the primary colors and mix them to create secondary colors of orange, purple and green.  Normally, we share paint plates,  but this time, each student had their own so they could learn to mix colors.  After introducing new artist Kandinsky and focusing on his famous circle painting, we attempted to paint our own Kandinsky using our new colors.  Bravo, young artists!
