Painted Paper Owls

September 25, 2011

Third graders needed two weeks to complete this project.  They were all familiar with Eric Carle who illustrated a host of beautiful books.  Using him as an example, they painted paper with their favorite colors.  The next week students cut their papers to form the bodies of owls, complete with wings, large eyes and feet.  They added fall colored tissue paper as the final touch.  We had room to hang every child’s artwork in the hall and they are so much fun to look at.
