Paul Klee’s Castle and Sun Shape Picture

Second graders observed Paul Klee’s colorful painting called Castle and Sun.  They loved how he used common shapes to create a castle scene.  I gave each table a box full of 2″ construction paper squares.  After demonstrating how to cut the squares into rectangles and triangles, students took off creating their own version of Castle and Sun.   They had a ton of fun making these.
